Polar Plunge for Christ on South Holston

Polor Plunge for Christ

Ted White reacts to the 49 degree water in South Holston Lake on Saturday. The Water'n Hole Ministry of Friendship Freewill Baptist Church held the annual Polar Plunge for Christ Saturday at the Observation Knob Park boat ramp. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the JCMC Trauma 1 Level 1 Trauma Center's Injury Prevention to benefit Teen Suicide Awareness. On average one person between the ages of 10 and 24 will die from suicide every two hours.  Tennessee is ranked 18th nationally for teen suicide rates. This is the second year with the first year raising $3000 for the church meal mission.  This year the second misson was added after a teen from Sullivan East High School committed suicide last year.
