Health Care signup time is closing this weekend

Affordable Health Care Act

Carrie Hertzog talks about the process she went through to enroll in the Affordable Health Care program. Hertzog started down the wrong path by searching Obamacare and was almost convinced to give out her personal information to a website that was just taking information.  Hertzog finally was connected to Wellmont and worked with them to have the plans explained and she settled with the Silver Plan.

Snow came quickly Wednesday afternoon

This car was in the pond along Walnut Hill Road in Sullivan County on Wednesday during the afternoon snowfall.  The driver was able to get out the passenger side and walk to a local business to call the Sheriff's Deptartment for help.

Abingdon Sports Complex Public Viewing of plans

Public input on Sports Complex in Abingdon

Abingdon Town residents were able to give input on two designs for the Sports Complex being considered just off the Creeper Trail.  Clough Harbour & Associates presented two plans with 4 baseball and softball fields, parking, soccer and concessions.

Today, officials announced that United Way of Southwest Virginia has surpassed its 2015 campaign goal raising a total of $1,504,635. "We are excited to deliver this news to the community," said United Way of Southwest Virginia CEO, Travis Staton. "It is a testament to the generosity of our community and an example of the confidence donors place in United Way every year.
