Million Dollar Smile in Abingdon, Virginia

Judith Marsh was on hand Thursday at Kroger in Abingdon, Virginia to receive her $1 million check from the Virginia Lottery after she won part of the megamillions from Tuesday drawing.  Marsh always plays the same numbers and won several hundred thousand dollars 6 years ago.

The Inn at Wise Update

The Inn at Wise is being restored to it old style glory.  In addition the town of Wise, Virginia is repaving the sidewalks downtown as well.  The Inn is scheduled to be completed this winter.

Wayne C. Henderson School of Appalachian Arts in Marion

Catherine Poole, executive director of the Wayne C. Henderson School of Appalachian Arts shows the original blackboard on the wall in one of the rooms being remodeled for the school.  The building has served as an old school and library in Marion and the new school will house dance, pottery, yarn arts, cooking and painting as well as other arts from around the area.

B-17 at TriCities Aviation till weekend for Tours and Air rides

Pete Scholl talks about the B17 Flying Fortress at Tri Cities Aviation on Tuesday.  Scholl was one of the pilots who flew the plane to Blountville.  The plane is open for tours and you can take flights onboard until Sunday.

Marion Fire Department lights up WTC Steel Beam

The Marion Fire Department had a Lighting of the Lights of Freedom ceremony on Sept. 11, 2014 at the Marion Fire Hall.  The lights were attached to the WTC Steel Memorial on display.
