Downed power line stops traffic on Interstate 81 for hours

The Northbound lane of Interstate 81 is backed up serveral miles due to a downed powerline and small fire on Monday afternoon.

Regional Legislative Breakfast

National Chemistry Week at Eastman Chemical

High Point Elemtary School 4th. grade students look at themselves as seen with a thermal imaging camera at the 27th. American Chemical Society National Chemistry Week at Eastman Chemical on Tuesday. Students got to see all different types of chemical reactions and how things are made with the help of chemistry.

Eastman Chemical explosion rattles local businesses

Shawn Jenkins recounts what he heard and felt when there was an explosion at Tennessee Eastman on Wednesday morning. Jenkins was sitting at his desk at Williamw Electric just 1/2 mile away when the explosion shook the building and dirts and other loose material fell from the ceiling.

Santa Train begins to load up

The Food City on Eastman Road in Kingsport was the location for the sorting and bagging of the food for the Santa Train on Wednesday. The train will make its run on Saturday traveling from Kentucky to Kingsport and stopping along the way to hand out food and toys to the children.

Wine now sold in Tennessee Grocery Stores

Eastman Credit Union Marsh Blood Mobile announced

Johnson City Radio Controllers Club

Roy Cline assembles one of his portable RC Airplanes on Friday, January 1, 2016 at the TriCities Model Airport. Cline has taken this plane and flown in China, Mexico and the United States. He takes the plane on trips he makes for his business and meets people along the way and forms a bond instantlly that overcomes the language barrier.

Boone Dam Repairs Prep Begins

Contractors work on the concrete slab that will become the Mobile Mixing Pad where water, concrete and other materials will be mixed and piped out to the earthen part of Boone Dam. This will used to fill the cracks in the rock and also be used to make the Composite Wall that will be build inside the earthen part of the Dam.

Loading the Santa Train

Food and snacks are loaded into plastic bags that will be loaded onto the 73rd. Santa Train in Kingsport, Tennessee. Food bags and toys were loaded into containers by volunteers at Food City on Wednesday evening to christmas music. The Santa Train will run from Kentucky through Virginia and end in Kingsport, Tennessee with Santa passing out stuffed toys to children and others will be passing out small food bags to all the others at the stops along the way.

Second Harvest Project Thanksgiving
