Speedway Children's Charities held the Sharkie 500 on Saturday. Over 5000 sharks were dropped in Beaver Creek. Winning Shark was the BMS Mustang Pace Car.

Members of the Community gathered on Thursday with ETSU students to compile answers to questions about the Bristol Community good points, bad points and the needs. All the answers will be gathered and narrowed down to be given in a report to the United Way to determine the greatest needs for the area.

Richard Venable, with Networks, speaks during a announcement on Wednesday, at TriCities Airport, that Sullivan County, TN is now a Connected Certified Community. Connected Tennessee Community Engagement program guides communities through an assessment of their overall broadband and technology innovation, using criteria set as a part of a "community certification" model. The program helps train regional team leaders and supports the formation of community planning teams made up of various sector representatives.
