Sullivan County Jail getting Digital upgrade

The outdated control room of the current Sullivan County Jail has several old monitors and has been outfitted with extra air-conditioning to keep the old coaxial cable connected recorders that save the video cool.  The new system will be displayed on flat screen monitor on wall.

School letting students use cell phones for class

Students now get to use their smartphone for classwork in personal finance class at Sullivan Central. The students are allowed to use the phones with permission from the teacher for class and can use outside class for extra personal usage.

The 94 strong band and color guard are working two weeks before school starts on their 2012 program called "Elements of Life"

Early voting has begun at the three locations for Sullivan county. The County Office in Blountville is shown above with the National Guard Armory, Bristol, Tn. and the Civic Auditorium in Kingsport being the others till Feb. 28th.
