A Norfolk Southern engine passes the crews with Norfolk Southern as they install rubber on either side of the tracks as part of the work that took place on Thursday that closed State Street the entire day. Spikes were replaced, track was leveled and a new railroad crossing was installed. Every two years this major type of maintenance is scheduled.

Haley Brunty,11, and her brother Will Brunty, 3, were playing some soccer at Steele Creek Park on Wednesday in the warm weather. Haley thought it was warm enough for shorts and t-shirt where her brother was still in long pants and polarfleece shirt. The weather could get into the 70's later this week.

Rick Welsh works on getting all the rain water off the inflatable slides outside the Bristol Motor Speedway on Tuesday. The kids zone had several of these for the kids but the Sunday rain caused water to settle on the 1000 pound canvas blowups. All the water is being removed and the area will be inflated again so the slides, etc, can dry out. Star's Big Top employees were on hand to work on the area for the next couple of days to start the drying process.
