E.B. Stanley 7th. grader wins Essay Contest

Dillon McReynolds is a seventh grade student at E.B. Stanley Middle School holds is certificate for winning The Virginia Municipal League "If I were Mayor" essay contest for Region 1.  McReynolds won a trip to Richmond as well.

Healing Hands kicks of Valentine Day Sweets for your Sweet

Corey Smith works on the delivery bag for the upcoming Sweets for the Sweet fund raiser for Healing Hands in Bristol, TN.  In February cupcakes will be delivered in the local area.  Over 900 cupcakes from Blackbird Blackery are being planned for this years campaign.

Family picking up the pieces after house exploded

Carl Johnson talks to his wife, Sandra Johnson, one her first day out of the hospital after the family had their house explode in November 2016.  Carl had broken ankles and Sandra broke both legs and has burns on her body. Their son, Jason, was thrown into the yard.  The family is looking for a house to live in until they can buy a new house or build.

Eagle Scout Project Burning Bridges

Lucus Triplett was the Life Scout that developed the idea and mounted the marker.  This Civil War Trails maker in Bluff City is called Burning Bridges.  The marker show the railroad bridges that were burned and targeted during the Civil War.  The Bridge in Bluff City was one of the bridges burned.

Flu is getting some traction in the Tri Cities.

Locals going to see Trump sworn in...

Shirley Carrier, left, and Linda Osborne will be attending the Inauguration of Donald Trump on Friday in Washington, D.C.  Carrier was able to see Trump in Abingdon in 2016 and got his autograph on a hat that she is holding.  The two ladies are going with 12 others from the TriCities to the event.

Stone work on Builders First Source in Bristol

Hugo Morales was placing Manufactured stone of the face of the Builders First Source on West State Street in Bristol, Virginia.  The front of the store will also have stone columns to match.  The stone product from Stonehouse Solutions, Inc. is sold by the store and by working the front of the store you have a finished product to see.  Morales and his team will be working for the next couple of days to finish.
