Beaver Creek Flood plan

Beaver Creek Flood Damage Reduction Plan

This walking bridge will be taken down and replaced with a design that will not build up debris and backup Beaver Creek into downtown Bristol.  The work in this phase of the plan will also take some property along the creek including some of the parking lot of Penn Stuart.

The multicar escort is traveling from Chattanooga, Tennessee through Bristol, Virginia on the way to Dover, Deleware with the bodies of Marines killed in Thursday's Shooting in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  Upon arrival, transfer cases will be draped and an honorable transfer will be conducted according to Maj. Bristol Police Camp Challenge @ Steele Creek

The Bristol Police Bomb Squad robot was brought to Camp Challenge on Wednesday as part of Camp Challenge at Steele Creek Park.  The Bristol Tennessee Police Dept. sponsors the camp and other agencies are invited during the week to show the kids what the department do for the public.

Bristol Public Library Summer Reading program celebration

The Burger Bar in Bristol Virginia is expanding and creating a sit down eating and catering location called Piedmont Station. Joe and Kayla Deel, owners, are looking forward to more space for functions to be held and more storage for the Burger Bar.

Studio Brew Brewery coming along well for August opening

Studio Brew is moving along for a late August opening in Bristol, Virginia.  The Economic Development Committee and Industrial Development Authority toured the new business on Monday. Owner Erich Allen, owner, talked about the time frame and the extra work that hase been performed in the historical building.

Southern Pride Ride Bristol VA-TN

Southern Pride Ride

Several trucks and cars adorned with the Confederate Battle Flag and American Flags circle the parking lot of the Bristol Motor Speedway on Friday, July 3, 2015 in Bristol, Tennessee as part of the Southern Pride Ride.  Organizers started the Ride in Bristol, Virginia and drove to Johnson City, Tennessee to meet up with other Flag Supporters.  NASCAR recently requested that fans not bring the Confederate Battle flag to the races on the circuit.
