Bluff City vote to keep Mayor and others

Election signs are out in numbers in front of the Bluff City Hall on Tuesday for Election Day.  The City has just over 1000 registered voters and a large turn out is expected.

Weaver Elementary School Future discussed

Parents and family filled the auditorium of Weaver Elementary School on Monday to listen to Sullivan County Director of Schools Evelyn Rafalowski, center, and other experts about the future of the school.  Last year there was a structural problem with the walls of the school that has been repaired but the school is not sound for many years and the meeting was called to discuss moving students to other schools.

Eagle Scout Project Burning Bridges

Lucus Triplett was the Life Scout that developed the idea and mounted the marker.  This Civil War Trails maker in Bluff City is called Burning Bridges.  The marker show the railroad bridges that were burned and targeted during the Civil War.  The Bridge in Bluff City was one of the bridges burned.

Sewage problems could be fixed soon in Bluff City, Tennessee

Mattern and Craig Engineers, Iron Mountain Construction, Water and Waste Equip. Inc. and Acorn Electrical Specialists, Inc. were on site of the new Bluff City Waste Water Pumps that were installed over the past week.

Rime Ice after a cold foggy morning.....

Thursday morning fog and cold temps created Rime Ice on many of the branches and blades of grass in Bluff City, Tennessee near Boone Lake.

Bluff City Sewer spills into yard and Boone Lake

Mary Moore walks along the channel made by the overflowing sewer system that has been a problem for the past 6 months on the Moore property in Bluff City.  The sewage flows from a manhome cover onto the Moore property and then travels down the driveway onto the riverbed and into the river.

Highway nearly finished in Bluff City

Local House part of President Andrew Johnson history.

The view of the dining room of Betsy and Harvey Carrier.  Furniture is from the original home called Stover Hall  and was  lived in by the Pres. Andrew Johnson family.  The home burned in the late 1880's and was rebuilt on the original foundation in 1907.
