The bronze paperboy statue outside the Bristol Herald Courier in Bristol, Va. It is ironic that we have a bronze statue outside the office showing an icon of the past. The paperboy who used to sell the papers on the street. Today the paper is read on the internet or sometimes not at all so that the entire industry is becoming a bronze statue to the past. We are changing in the industry to survive but some think it is too little too late. Hopefully, the local paper will survive, especially in the rural area of southwest Virginia.
