I worked side by side with Johnny for yrs @ Dana in Bristol,VA.He & Vanessa both seemed to be such a dedicated,active,Christian couple.He disliked 2nd shift because he never got to spend enough time w/his family.She came to the plant & brought his dinner a couple nights a week every week and the family ate together and the kids got to spend time w/their daddy.They were crazy about him!During the 7 yrs we worked together,I never heard him raise his voice and certainly never heard him utter a foul word to,or about,anyone.In the opinions of his coworkers,he was a loyal husband,proud & loving father,supportive friend,& a dedicated,hard working employee.After Dana shut down & moved to Mexico,most of us lost touch,but I thot of Johnny & his family often.They seemed to be the couple that just might actually make it to grow old together.Now I cant begin to wrap my head around this trajedy.Much less understand & accept that Johnny had such a dark,malicious,evil inside that led him to commit this act-and with his children in the house!I feel like yrs of friendship and happy memories have been robbed from me;like the person I thot I knew & believed to be my friend faked their way thru kindness,support,encouragement,like every night we shared @ work was a carefully designed front to hide this mean,scary,cold,dangerous,vendictive,malicious creature that finally ripped & clawed its way thru the trusted & loved facade I knew as my friend.It has shown its terrifying face & has left me devestated by its souless capabilities.I'll wonder for the rest of my life if I truly knew Johnny Counts after all the years we spent together,or if I'm just now meeting him for the first time.
