Jeffrey Allison, a Virginia Intermont College alum will be on campus headlining an art and photography workshop. He is a NATIVE OF SALTVILLE who as a child got his first true exposure to art when an Artmobile brought ìreal museum artî to town. He ended up a recipient of fellowships from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, which is one of the top museums in all of the U.S., in fact in the top 10. The fellowships helped him go on to college at VI and to graduate school. He is now at the top of the art world in Virginia. He works for VMFA, is the Paul Mellon Collection educator for it, is also an award-winning photographer, always has several photography exhibits ongoing, travels across the Commonwealth with VMFA exhibits, and advocates the importance of art and state funding for it. He won an advocate of the year award this year. His workshop at VI Thursday ñ 11 a.m. Trayer Theatre, Worrell Fine Arts Bldg., is on Renoir and the ladies who posed for him ñ the women in his life.
