Battle #3 Matt Fleenor heads the ball as VHS #4 Zach Dean runs up on the ball as well. Fleenor, who scored his 99th career goal in the first half to give John Battle a 1-0 lead over Virginia High, would add three more as the Trojans beat the Bearcats 5-1 in the Clinch Mountain District/Region D semifinals Wednesday at Sugar Hollow Park. The win, coupled with Gate City’s victory over Lebanon in the second semifinal, gave the Trojans a return trip to the Group A tournament.
