
Aaron Musgrove works with a "victim" at the Bristol Motor Speedway on Wednesday as part of a Tenshioned Highline Rescue. Department of Fire Programs provided three-day class perfecting rescue techniques required while working from ropes. The 32-hour class includes classroom and hands-on practical exercises such as ascending and descending fixed ropes, packaging and rescuing victims from a high angle environment. Bristol Virginia Fire Department (BVFD) is designated as the Heavy Tactical Rescue Team for Division 4 in the Commonwealth of Virginia; as such, the state provides training for BVFD personnel.
