
Sheri Castle, food writer and cooking teacher, from North Carolina talks with grower Richard Moyer from Castlewood about his Jujubes and Greasy Beans at the Abingdon Famers Market during a morning tour as part of the Appalachian Food Summit at the Heartwood on Saturday.
Anthony Flaccavento was the opening keynote speaker at the Appalachian Food Summit in Abingdon, Virginia on Saturday at the Heartwood. Flaccavento spoke on the Revival of Farmers Markets, Farms, Soils, Pastures and "vaguely concerned and sporadically motivated" customer. Over 100 people attended the event that included several meals with local ingrediants and lectures and workshops during the weekend.
