Amanda Lane, left, stands to the applause of those gathered during the United Way of Bristol Kick Off on Wednesday. Lane was the featured speaker and tolld her story about coming onto hard times in 2013 and was directed to Family Promise of Bristol for help in finding shelter for her family after job and home loss. Lane and her family now have a home and jobs to begin living their lives once again with the help of the community.
