Birthplace of Country Music holds song writing for kids day

Song Writing for Kids

Cheryl Toth records students from Van Pelt Elementary School sing the song they just wrote on Wednesday.  5th. Grade students at Van Pelt Elementary School spent Wednesday brainstorming song ideas at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum.  Kid Pan Alley is a national music education program that has presented to school groups across the U.S., empowering children to write their own songs. It is based in Virginia. Paul Reisler, founder and artistic director and Cheryl Toth, executive director were helping the children put together ideas for a song and then the verses.  The topic was the Flooding in Houston, TX.
