Washington County Virginia are using these new paper ballot voting machines currently for early voting and will be used for November 7 election. In 2016, the Virginia General Assembly passed legislation requiring all localities retire their touch screen voting machines before July 1, 2020. In late July a cyber security conference was held in Las Vegas that found certain touch screen machines--such as the ones Washington County--are hackable, requiring the machines to be discredited and have localities switch over to paper ballot machines.
