This is the main stage for the Barter Theatre in Abingdon, Virginia.
Richard Rose is the second-longest serving artistic director in Barter’s history, celebrating his 26th year here at Barter Theatre. He is only the third artistic director in the historic theatre’s 85-year history.
Katy Brown heads casting for Barter Theatre and is the associate artistic director of both The Barter Players and The Barter Players Encore Company. Katy Brown is an Associate Artistic Director of Barter Theatre and is pleased to be in her eighteenth year at the theatre. She has directed more than 90 professional productions, including: The Three Musketeers, Peter and the Starcatcher, Mary’s Wedding, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Miracle Worker, Little Women, The 39 Steps, Hamlet, Othello, Dead Man’s Cell Phone, Anne of Green Gables, Doubting Thomas, The Road to Appomattox, The Fantasticks, Holiday Memories, The Foreigner, Romeo and Juliet, A Thousand Cranes, Violet, as well as Barter’s national tour of Of Mice and Men.
